Ahoy, Fitzroy

Here it is, just in time for your weekend adventures….Trade Secrets Fitzroy Edition. We are super nostalgic at the moment, last week we took you back to Smith St, where we met up some interesting cats, and ate great food, but now it’s Fitzroy’s time in the sun. We’re talking cocktails, Asian tapas, and lamington Jaffles. Enjoy.

Black Pearl

If you live in Melbourne and have not yet made the trip to Black Pearl, find some time this weekend for a cocktail or three (shouldn’t be too hard, it’s open until 3 am). Easily one of the best bars Australia, and indeed the world, has to offer; Black Pearl is a Melbourne institution worthy of your time. Read our interview with bar manager, and 2014 Bartender of the Year, Nathan Beasley, about his favorite regulars, drinks, and what makes a great bar.

Bad Frankies

Bad Frankie is a sweet little venue dedicated to showing off Australian spirits and produce. We hung out with Cennon Hanson, bartender and all around spirit queen, we talked jaffles, Russian ladies, Australian liqour, and Tinder dates. Rread more her.e

Rice, Paper, Scissors

Rice, Paper, Scissors does South East Asian cuisine, and they do it damn fine! Although ironically, they don’t actually have any rice on the menu, given the name. They use the hashtag #useyourhands on menus and Instagram, which says exactly what they are about. It’s Asian, done tapas style. Cool huh? Here, have a read.
