Get To Know: CAPI Grapefruit

Grown In Cuba

Made from the finest Cuban fruit, our Grapefruit Soda delivers Central American acidez to Australian shores. During their time growing in Cuba, CAPI grapefruit prefers warm weather coupled with ample water supplies in the soil.  A lack of warm weather results in a less tasty fruit, as the fruit instead prioritises its energy reserves to self-preservation. Wanting only the juiciest, most grapefruit-y taste made Cuba a natural selection when sourcing grapefruits for our Grapefruit Soda.

Rosemary Acts As A Natural Preservative

In case you didn't know already, all CAPI drinks are 100% natural and chemical preservative free! Based on this, we have gotten creative with how we keep our sodas fresh and delicious for longer. Things get a bit technical when going into the nitty gritty of exactly what rosemary contains to keep microorganisms that may affect the freshness at bay - but rest assured, it's all good things!

Hybrid Of The Pommelo & Sweet Orange

The pink grapefruit we use in our CAPI Grapefruit soda is a sour to semisweet, and somewhat bitter fruit. Grapefruit, like all citrus fruit, is a Hesperidium, or a large modified berry with a thick rind. Both Pommelo and Grapefruit are rich in vitamin C and have a sweet to sweet-sour taste with a distinctly bitter note. The combination results in a fruit that perfectly balances bitter and sweet.
